Photo Friday! Week 46: Cable Bay Morning

#FriFotos Trees at Cable Bay NZ

Located on the east coast of New Zealand, the sun rises over one of the many stunning beaches in Northland. I got this photo of Cable Bay on a run one morning. Cable Bay beach on a sunny morning, Far North, January 2010

Capture the Seasons: In Sunsets

#FriFotos Trees ahipara sunset

As I emerge into the vibrant community of Travel Blogging, I've found myself recently participating in lots of various meme style posts lately. After sorting through my copious amounts of disorganised photos to capture the colour of my travels and then sorting through my favourite travel memories to pick my top 3 for the Blogger [...]

puheke beach

There is absolutely no shortage of breath-taking beautiful beaches in Northland. This was one of my first tastes of what was to come, living in the Far North when I started my expat life up here in 2010. Puheke Beach on the Karikari Peninsula, Northland NZ February 2010

tshirt quilt

Working at camp. Bungy jumping. University. Canada. New Zealand. My Sister's University.  Learning to surf in Australia. Gifts from family and friends. coopers beach

A calm sunset at Coopers Beach, February 2010 My first home in the Far North was a mere stroll away from Coopers Beach. Located on the East Coast, the sunset was often swallowed up by the hills, but that didn't stop me from loving it anyways!

cloudy rarotonga

July 2011 Even a 'bad day' in Rarotonga is still beautiful! The weather wasn't perfect, but we hired a scooter for the day and cruised around exploring the 35km long 'Main Road' that goes right round the whole island. We stopped at this little beach to have a swim.

view of Spirits Bay

Arial view of the Beach and campgrounds at Spirits Bay So you find yourself a the very top of the Land of the Long White Cloud. You've made the hour or so journey from the most northern town - Kaitaia. Of course you go to see the beautiful and significant Cape Reinga. But then what? [...]

touch rugby

September 2010 A game of Touch Rugby on 90 Mile Beach on a picture perfect evening. So much time was spent playing on the beach when I lived across the street from the  beach. What a life.

July 2011 After a few delays getting out of Auckland, we arrived in Rarotonga in the very early hours of the morning. Once we got to our room, we were ready to get our holiday started, so we set off for the beach to watch the sun come up!
